What Are the Types of Ijazah We Offer?

QuranKSA offers the following Ijazah programs through certified male and female tutors.

Ijazah in HifzMemorisation

Hifz students can obtain an Ijazah in Hifz by memorizing and accurately reciting the entire Quran without making any errors. If any student aspires to become a Hifz tutor, it is advisable to earn an Ijazah, as it will validate their memorization skills and enhance their qualifications.

To receive an Ijazah, a learner must recite the Quran from memory to a qualified Hafiz tutor who holds an Ijazah. Their accuracy will be evaluated, and the tutor will determine if they are ready to receive the Ijazah.

Ijazah in TajweedRecitation

The second type of Ijazah is for Tajweed. If a student has mastered all advanced Tajweed rules and is capable of applying them perfectly in the whole Quran, they can apply for an Ijazah. The tutors at QuranKSA will assess their Tajweed grip through a recitation test and will decide accordingly.

The students are required to give their best in their final Tajweed test to get certified with an Ijazah. After getting the degree, they can formally teach the Quran with Tajweed as a teacher.

Personalized 1-on-1 Quran Ijazah Course

An Ijazah is not just a certificate. It is a sacred trust, an unbroken chain of transmission going back to the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) himself. That is why our Quran Ijazah Course is taught one-on-one with a dedicated Ijazah-holding tutor who will personally supervise every aspect of your recitation.

In a one-on-one setting, the tutor can hear every letter, every pause and every breath. This level of detail is impossible in group settings and is essential for the accuracy required for Ijazah. You will recite the entire Quran to your tutor multiple times, and they will only grant the Ijazah when they are completely satisfied with your proficiency and precision.

Whether you want Ijazah in Hifz, Ijazah in Tajweed, or Ijazah in one of the 10 Qirat, our certified teachers will guide you step by step. After receiving your Ijazah, you will be qualified to teach the Quran yourself with a chain of transmission going all the way back to the Prophet (PBUH).

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Everything Ijazah students need to know.

What is an Ijazah in the Quran?
An Ijazah is a traditional Islamic certification that authorises the holder to teach and transmit the Quran with a continuous chain of transmission (sanad) going back to the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). It is the highest degree in Quranic recitation and memorisation.
What is the difference between Ijazah in Hifz and Ijazah in Tajweed?
Ijazah in Hifz certifies that the student has memorised the entire Quran without errors and can recite it from memory. Ijazah in Tajweed certifies mastery of the advanced Tajweed rules and the ability to apply them fluently throughout the Quran.
Do I need to complete Hifz before getting Ijazah?
Yes. For Ijazah in Hifz, you must first complete the memorisation of the entire Quran without any errors. For Ijazah in Tajweed, you must already be fluent in the entire Quran with proper Tajweed. Students who are not yet at this level typically start with our Hifz course first.
Will my Ijazah have a connected sanad?
Yes. All our Ijazah programs are taught by qualified Huffaz and Qaris who hold their own Ijazah with a connected chain of transmission back to the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).
Are female Ijazah teachers available for sisters?
Yes. We have qualified female Ijazah-holding teachers available specifically for sisters. You can request a female teacher when you book, and check out our Hifz classes for ladies page.
